WHAT TO SELL?????

This is a very common question and the best answer is..... “It depends.”  Here is some general advice useful to all who are pondering this question.

If you are a beginner, simply clean out your attic and your garage. I see stuff at garage sales all the time selling for a quarter or fifty cents, that would sell on eBay for several dollars. OK, selling your used junk is not that exciting (although many Power Sellers do this all the time), but you need to get some experience selling and you have to start somewhere. Selling your outgrown children’s toys, that old espresso machine, used textbooks and that collection of shot glasses your grandma gave you will give you the basic experience to get started.

Once you have mastered the basics of listing an item and completing a few sales, turn to your hobbies and interests. Unless you have experience in general retail or marketing, forget trying to find wholesale sources for the latest DVD, laptop computer or digital camera for now. You will have to do quite a bit of research to find products you can sell competitively.

The fastest way to success on eBay is to find a narrow niche market or specialty, learn everything you can about it, and start selling the specialized products and accessories that go with it.  Also try looking at our AMAZING EBAY RESOURCES for some terrific stimulating ideas.

Here is a great example. Are you a golfer? Did you know that vintage golf equipment is a big seller on eBay? You can find tons of old golf clubs, equipment, books, old golf shoes (yes they sell !) at garage sales and thrift shops. Last year I bought an old Callaway golf club at a garage sale for $2.00. I sold it on eBay the next weekend for $130.00.

Used books are another great item to sell on eBay.  I once bought a book at a thrift store for 50-cents and sold it for $50!!   It was about grouse, which are wild birds.  Apparently there's a huge interest in that subject!

If you don't want to invest a lot of money and you want a super-simple-to-run eBay business, you could try selling compilation CDs.  I go into this subject in great detail in my eBook "Burn To Earn".  It really is a nice business and it can be very profitable too.  I used to bring in about $1000 a week selling CDs on eBay!  Usually the only investment you'll have to make is in the blank CD-R's and labels.  If you'd like to learn more about this subject, I offer a FREE ebook sample HERE.

Whatever you decide to sell on eBay, make sure you understand the product and have the confidence to fully stand behind it. Remember, your reputation, and your feedback, are always on the line.
